From May 23 through 27, 2016 Pavilions Nos. 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, Forum and open air sites of Expocentre Fairgrounds (Moscow) host the 17th International Exhibition for Equipment, Instruments and Tools for the Metalworking Industry Metalloobrabotka 2016, a key industry event in the machine tool industry.

Metalloobrabotka is one of the largest industry projects in Russia and the CIS, which offers advanced solutions for upgrading of the Russian machine building sector. The trade show is approved by the logos of UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, and RUEF, the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.

The trade show enjoys particular attention of authorities, leading global and Russian metalworking companies. It is organized by Expocentre AO in cooperation with the Stankoinstrument Russian Association of Machine-Tool Manufacturers. The show is supported by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Engineering Union, and runs under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The unique thematic sections of the trade show occupying 38,500 sq m enable the industry experts and entrepreneurs to see the latest metalworking achievements, technology, equipment, and innovative systems as well as technical features and advantages of modern machines.

This year the participants in the trade show are 950 companies and enterprises from 33 countries:  Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Finland, France, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK, the Ukraine, and the USA.

Companies from Belarus, China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland supported by their industry associations have their national pavilions. Taiwan arranges a group stand.

This year Saxony, a federal state of Germany takes part in Metalloobrabotka for the 10th time. The Saxony Economic Development Corporation organizes a group stand of Saxon companies by the order of the Saxon State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport.

Belorgstankinprom Institute arranges a group stand of the Republic of Belarus. New accomplishments are presented by major machine-tool builders e.g., Minsk Transfer Lines Plant named after P. M. Masherov, S. M. Kirov Machine-Tool Plant, MZOR, a managing company of Belstankoinstrument Holding, VISTAN, VIZAS Works, Krasny Borets, Machine-Tool Plant, StankoGomel, Gomel Machine Tool Units Plant, Orsha Tool Factory, BelTAPAZ Grodno Plant of Lathe Chucks, Baranovichi Machine Tool Accessories Plant, Tsentrolit Gomel Foundry, Gomselmash, Gomel Plant of Special Instrument and Technological Equipment,  and Gomel Plant of Foundry and Fasteners.

Foreign companies will present their developments and equipment, among them Alfleth Engineering AG, Amada, Balluff GmbH, Bystronic Laser AG, DMG MORI, Galika AG, M&D Gertner, Grob Werke, Handtmann, Hoffmann Group, Emag ECM, Junker, Mazak, Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V., Mori Seiki, Sandvik Coromant, TL Technology, Trumpf, Willemin Macodel, WFL Millturn Technologies plus many others.

The newcomers to the trade show are Swenska Transofilter (Sweden), Shinwa Rules, Eight Tool Co., (Japan), Matrix Machine Tool (UK), Koltech (Poland), Datalogic Automation (Italy), Widin Co. (South Korea), and others.

This year the Russian exposition is presented by the leading machine tool enterprises, such as STAN including five Russian companies: Ivanovo Heavy Machine Tool Building Plant, Ryazan Machine Tool Plant, Stankostroenie SKB (Sterlitamak), Shlifovalnye Stanki (Grinding Machines) (Moscow), Stankotekh (Kolomna); Tekhnika Vladimir Machine Tool Plant, VNITEP, Delta-Test, Kirovgrad Hard Alloys Plant, MSZ-Salute, NIIizmereniya, Sasta, Stankozavod “TBC”, Stan-Samara, Kovrov Electromechanical Plant, KR Group, Laser Center, Moskovskiy Instrumentalny Zavod (Moscow Tool Plant), Tyazhmekhpress Moscow Tool Plant, Tyazhpressmash, Ulyanovsk Machine Tool OOO, and others. The total number amounted to about 500 companies.

The following thematic sections are offered to the industry experts:

  • Integrated technologies based on high-performance machines, tools, and equipment for modernization of factories: metal-cutting, metal-forming, foundry, and welding equipment; equipment, tools, and materials; thermal treatment and coating equipment; metal-cutting tools; control and measuring machinery, instruments and tools;
  • Accessories, equipment, components, tooling, hardware and software;
  • Repair and modernization of equipment, spare parts and services;
  • Development of modern information CALS-technologies;
  • Materials for metal-working.

Metalloobrabotka features a traditional section “Science, vocational education and production” organized by the Stankoinstrument Association and assisted by Expocentre.

The trade show features the Interregional Subcontracting Exchange and the Expocentre for Counterfeit-Free Exhibitions project.

The Metalloobrabotka key events are

  • 6th International Scientific and Technical Forum on Modern Trends in Technologies and Design of Metalworking Equipment organized by the Stankoinstrument Association in association with Expocentre AO;
  • International Forum on Digital Machinery Production: Problems and Solutions organized by Moscow State Technological University Stankin assisted by Expocentre AO and the Stankoinstrument Association;
  • 4th Russian Forum on Metalworking. Strategy 2016-2018 organized by Imperia Congress and Exhibition Company assisted by the Stankoinstrument Association and Expocentre AO

The event program features conferences and seminars on different relevant issues.

Moscow State Technological University Stankin and Expocentre AO hold a major scientific and technical event for the youth - International school for young scientists and professionals in robotics, manufacturing technology and automation, as well as academic seminars on digital production and automation for schoolchildren and teachers of additional education.

The preliminary round of the competition for students and young professionals is organized by Pavlov Polytechnic College No.8, supported by Expocentre AO, the Stankoinstrument Association and Handenhain. The winners are awarded by certificates and prizes.

The machine building subject will be further developed at the International Exhibition for Equipment and Technology for Construction Materials Processing Technoforum 2016 to be held on 24-27 October 2016 at Expocentre Fairgrounds.
