Products on display: all aspects of machine tool building and metalworking: intelligent new generation machine tool systems, automated lines, test machinery, state-of-the-art metal machining and cutting equipment, tooling and accessories, innovative design developments, the latest software, etc.

The high profile of the exhibition was confirmed by the presence of the heads of the Russian Government and relevant departments. In particular,�Mikhail Mishustin,�Prime Minister of Russia, attended the exhibition. Mr. Mishustin was accompanied by�Anton Alikhanov, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade,�and�Valery Falkov, Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education. They inspected key stands, talked with equipment developers, and stressed the need for accelerated technological transformation of the industry. Anton Alikhanov highlighted that the share of the Russian participants increased significantly in 2025, calling this evidence of the revival of domestic machine tool manufacturing on a new technological basis.

Representatives of the Russian State Duma, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and regional authorities also spoke at various events of the exhibition. This participation of officials underlined the government\'s attention to the development of the metalworking industry.

Show highlights

The group stands of Russian regions have played an important role in establishing direct links between different regions of this country. Representatives of regional delegations held talks with potential investors and partners from other regions. For example, the companies from the Samara region said that they found new partners interested in their services and are now ready to deliver equipment thanks to their participation in the exhibition. Such an exchange strengthens inter-regional industrial ties and contributes to a more even development of the industry throughout the country. Similarly, interregional projects, cluster initiatives, and joint ventures were actively discussed at the stands of Tatarstan, Krasnoyarsk Krai, and other regions. Many regions took advantage of the exhibition to conclude cooperation agreements, in particular, on the establishment of joint training centers, the launch of cooperative production lines, and the exchange of experience within national projects.

Maxim Fateev, Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO,�stated that today Metalloobrabotka is the largest platform in the country where equipment manufacturers, technology suppliers, representatives of science, business and government meet. According to him, such a powerful and meaningful exhibition is directly related to the priorities of Russia\'s industrial policy, which is confirmed by the inclusion of the exhibition�s topics in the agenda of national projects.

Heavy metal cutting machines, robotic complexes, CNC systems, software for smart factories, AI and digital twin solutions were demonstrated in the pavilions and outdoor areas of EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds. New materials and additive technologies were also widely showcased.

Metalloobrabotka 2025 brought together both the world\'s leading and local Russian brands. Dozens of manufacturers took part in the show within the national pavilions of China and Belarus. This year�s exhibitors of the national pavilion of the Republic of Belarus included Krasny Borets Machine-Tool Plant, MZOR, Kuzlitmash, BelTAPAZ, Gomel Machine Tools and Assemblies Plant, etc. The exhibitors also included major equipment manufacturers from friendly countries (India, Turkiye, Iran, etc.), as well as leading Russian machine tool manufacturing, industrial robotics and tool engineering enterprises. These Russian exhibitors included LASERCUT, which is one of the Russian leaders in laser technology and which presented eleven units of high-tech equipment, Promobot, a manufacturer of service robots, STAN, as well as large state corporations and their divisions, such as Rossotrudnichestvo, Rosatom (additive technologies), etc. Thanks to this line-up of participants, the show demonstrated the latest achievements across the entire spectrum of the metalworking industry.

Many companies timed equipment premieres to the exhibition. They showed new models of CNC machines, laser cleaning and marking systems, bending presses of the latest generation, and other new products, solutions, and services. Some equipment and machinery were showcased in operation. It made it possible to evaluate the efficiency and quality of processing. One could see the joint work of a milling processing center with a collaborative robot, automatic billet feeding lines, as well as special demonstrations of the metal 3D printing process. All this clearly reflected the current trends of digitalization and industrial automation in metalworking.

Many stands had comfortable areas for negotiations to accommodate consultations, presentations for potential customers, and discussion of cooperation. The exhibition has become not just a showcase of technologies, but also a platform for business networking. Industry professionals discussed specific production tasks, selected solutions, and exchanged experiences. Thus, Metalloobrabotka 2025 combined a broad technological overview of the industry with a chance to have direct contacts with developers and consumers of equipment.

For the first time in 2025, the organisers also presented a�WhoMatch digital service�that is an smart AI business matching platform to help participants and visitors find relevant partners faster.

Conference programme

This year, the conference programme offered�41 events. A key one was�the Plenary Session on the National Project on Means of Production and Automation as a Basis for the Development of Sustainable Industry. It welcomed important representatives of Russian federal ministries, the Russian State Duma, different regions, and educational institutions. Its participants discussed four priority tends of the industry�s development:

modernization and renewal of manufacturing machinery and equipment,
development of technologies, engineering and competencies in machine building,
creation of local production of spare parts and components,
promotion of Russian products on both domestics and foreign markets.

The session set the tone for the entire conference programme, focusing on the challenges of technological sovereignty and the revival of Russian engineering school.

Other important events included the International Trade and Industry�Congress on Investments. Development. Cooperation,�the�Russian Subcontracting and Engineering Exchange, and a series of conferences including the�Forum on Effective Production 4.0,�and sections dedicated to robotics and additive manufacturing.

The programme also featured different industry conferences dedicated to additive technologies, industrial robotics, digital platforms for mechanical engineering, etc., over four days. The Subcontracting and Engineering Exchange provided an opportunity for small and medium-sized businesses to find customers and suppliers. These companies presented their services and technologies to large manufacturers and concluded preliminary cooperation agreements at different special sessions. Strategic sessions and panels brought together experts to discuss specific issues ranging from engineering training to standardization in machine tool manufacturing.

Science and education once again received a great deal of attention at Metalloobrabotka 2025. The exhibition included stands of such leading Russian universities as Stankin Moscow State University of Technology, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, MISIS National University of Science and Technology, MIREA � Russian Technological University, Moscow Power Engineering Institute, etc. Their participation was accompanied by various workshops, presentations of startup projects, and youth competitions. All of these encouraged a direct dialogue between the educational sector and business. The key issues were the training of new generation engineers, technology transfer from universities to industry, and the creation of basic departments and laboratories at the industry�s enterprises. The presence of the educational sector organically complemented the show�s conference programme, emphasizing the connection between the development of the industry and research and education.

The exhibition hosted several ceremonies of signing strategic agreements between technical universities and industrial companies. One of them was the partnership agreement in the field of additive technologies between Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Glazov Digital Manufactory (Udmurt Republic). The document provides for joint research and implementation of innovative 3D printing solutions, the use of university laboratories for testing, as well as the development of educational programmes for the training of highly qualified personnel. According to the participants, this cooperation is designed to accelerate the development of domestic additive manufacturing and ensure technological sovereignty in this area.

The future of Metalloobrabotka

The next edition of the show ��Metalloobrabotka 2026 ��will take place�from 12 through 15 May 2026�at a different location at�Crocus Expo�(Moscow).

The format of the exhibition will be preserved, but the showcase will become even more ambitious. Metalloobrabotka 2026 will bring together all the relevant trends and areas of the industry and cover related topics. The show will include the Technoforum (additive technologies, digitalization, automation) and Rusweld (welding and cutting) exhibitions as its new sectors. It is expected to enhance the synergetic effect as the visitors will be able to see products and technologies of related industries under one roof, and the exhibitors will be able to generate new business contacts outside their narrow industry sectors.

A meeting between Russian Prime Minister�Mikhail Mishustin�and students of technical universities and colleges took place at the 25th�edition of the�Metalloobrabotka�International Exhibition.��

Mikhail Mishustin: Good afternoon, dear students, bosses, rectors, ministers! We are very pleased to see here students of the country\'s leading technical universities.

Together with Minister of Industry and Trade�Anton Alikhanov�and Minister of Science and Higher Education�Valery Falkov�and our colleagues, we have just seen the most advanced developments that our industry, state companies and private companies are currently making. This is machinery is very different: metal-cutting machine tools, mass-produced robotics, production automation, additive technologies, and CNC machine control systems. Everything that forms the basis of today\'s production.

We visited this exhibition a few years ago. And today, when I was walking round the stands, I told our ministers that I remembered this exhibition in the late 1980s. It was famous in Moscow � the Metalloobrabotka exhibition. As students of a machine-tool institute, we visited it regularly. There were our domestic machines: grinding, milling, and turning. There were also foreign machines.

But today I am particularly pleased with the availability of Russian machine tools in almost all areas. Today we showed new five-axis machines, machining systems, laser machines, and CNC racks. Several companies are already producing them. Look at the robot manipulators, which we have never even thought of before. And the software for controlling flexible automated production is also domestic today. This is very pleasing to see.

It was a pleasure to see some of our alumni among the CEOs and graduates of our educational institutions.

Prime Minister of Russia�Mikhail Mishustin�visited�Metalloobrabotka 2025. He toured the display area with�Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, and�Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia.

The Metalloobrabotka International Exhibition for Equipment, Instruments and Tools for the Metalworking Industry has been held since 1984. Today, it is one of the largest international trade shows in the machine-tool industry. This year the show celebrates its 25th anniversary edition. The event welcomes more than 1.2 thousand exhibitors, including about 840 companies from 50 regions of Russia, as well as companies from Belarus, China, India, Italy, South Korea, and Turkiye.

The conference programme of the exhibition is focused on applied tasks and strategic issues of development of basic industries.

The key attention in the business part is paid to the implementation of the National Project on Means of Production and Automation, its goals, key indicators, and state support measures. Other important topics are the issues of technological leadership as a priority direction of industrial policy, including the issues of import independence, development of scientific and technological potential, and training of highly qualified personnel.

The event serves as a key platform for the presentation of advanced developments in the machine tool industry and promotes the creation of sustainable production and technological chains. It is focused on promoting industrial cooperation, strengthening ties between manufacturers, suppliers and consumers, introducing Russian solutions and expanding import-independent supplies of equipment and components.

Professionals share experience at the Conference on Efficient Production 4.0

The hybrid Conference on Efficient Production 4.0 continues within the conference programme of�Metalloobrabotka 2025. Its organisers are Zyfra Group and EXPOCENTRE AO.

The conference is now in its eighth year and has become a leading professional platform for sharing knowledge and experience on how to successfully implement digital technologies in the discrete industry. This year\'s main theme is the IndustrialTech Effects: How Factories Grow, Save and Earn Today.

This year, the conference is attended by leading engineering and IT teams, as well as top managers from different enterprises. They get first-hand experience and learn about new real cases and effective innovations.

This year\'s topics also include Smart Factory: AI for Production Objectives, Digital Manufacturing: a Partnership between Robots and Humans, Industrial Data: the Platform for Digital Assistants and Twins, and Machine Diagnostics: a Tool for Reliability Management. The conference explores implemented technologies that are already making money for production facilities and improving their safety.

At the recent Plenary Session on the Digital Industry of Tomorrow: Moving from Data Acquisition and Storage to Real Production Benefits, representatives of government authorities, IT companies and manufacturing industries discussed the key challenges and priorities of digital transformation. The speakers were in agreement that digitalisation is not a goal in itself, but a tool for achieving technological leadership, increasing productivity and sustainable growth of the national industry.

Vladimir Dozhdev, Head of the Digital Technologies Department of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, spoke at the plenary session and emphasised the importance of choosing local IT solutions.

“When we are shaping any IT landscape today, we have to choose Russian solutions that are compatible with each other. Often we work with enterprises that have already developed their own architectures. And in this regard, of course, we must look closely at the issue of data continuity throughout the entire lifecycle, work on standards, protocols and data transfer formats,” said Vladimir Dozhdev.

Metalloobrabotka features subcontracting exchange

The Russian Subcontracting and Engineering Exchange opened on the second day of the International Trade and Industry Congress on Investments. Development. Cooperation 2025, held at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds as part of the conference programme of Metalloobrabotka 2025. It is organised by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Partnership for Subcontracting Development, and EXPOCENTRE AO.

The event was moderated by Alexandr Fedorov, Vice President of the Yaroslavl Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry and President of the National Partnership for Subcontracting Development.

Dmitry Kurochkin, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Sergey Selivanov, Deputy Director General of EXPOCENTRE, addressed the participants with welcoming remarks.

The Subcontracting and Engineering Exchange helps customers to find and select qualified suppliers capable of fulfilling orders, and suppliers to obtain additional orders for additional production capacity.

Today, the Partnership includes 14 subcontracting centres from 12 regions. Eleven of them operate on the basis of regional chambers of commerce and industry. The main task of the subcontracting centres is to assist enterprises in building effective cooperation schemes to solve emerging production problems.

It is the fourth time that the subcontracting exchange has been arranged at Metalloobrabotka. This year, seven customers are taking part in it, and more than 180 negotiations are planned.

Participant of Metalloobrabotka 2025 discussed the core national project

The Plenary Session on the National Project on Means of Production and Automation as a Basis for the Development of Sustainable Industry took place within the Metalloobrabotka 2025 exhibition at EPOCENTRE Fairgrounds. The event was moderated by Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The head of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry congratulated all those present on the Day of Russian Entrepreneurship and drew attention to the wide range of participants in the exhibition and plenary session.

"Today here are entrepreneurs, heads of chambers of commerce and industry, State Duma deputies, senators, representatives of ministries and agencies. The national project can only be implemented if we all work together and understand who is doing what,\' stressed Sergey Katyrin.

Anton Alikhanov, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, introduced the main parameters of the National Project on Means of Production and Automation in his speech.

"This national project is a cornerstone project. Without technological independence in this sphere, we will always be doomed not to have access to the most advanced developments, not to be able to process materials in such a way as to achieve the technical characteristics in space and aviation that we need," said Anton Alikhanov.

Four federal projects included in the national project are aimed at the development of machine tool industry, production of foundry and thermal equipment, robotics and automation of production, as well as science and personnel for the industry. As the minister pointed out, a total of more than RUB 400 billion is envisaged for their implementation.

Vladimir Gutenev, Chair of the Russian State Duma Committee for Industry and Trade, spoke in detail about state support measures for the machine tool industry and related industries, highlighting such instruments as special investment contracts, industrial mortgages, and special-purpose loans from the Industry Development Fund, among others. In achieving the goals of the national project, he called not only for long-term strategic planning, but also for promptly reacting to changes in the conjuncture and fine-tuning the system as necessary.

Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, Chair of the Russian State Council Commission for Industry, Governor of the Samara Region, listed specific ideas for stimulating industrial manufacturers at the regional level, citing examples from the region he is in charge of. In addition, he touched upon strengthening the role of interregional industrial cooperation and reminded that this topic will be discussed at the Russian State Council Commission meeting, which will also take place on 26 May.

Mikhail Gordin, Rector of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, shared the accumulated experience of one of the leading Russian technical universities. He encouraged colleagues from other technical universities to remain committed to the principles of fundamental training of professionals and, at the same time, to more actively implement a practice-oriented approach to education. According to him, Bauman University tries to involve students in real projects and develops cooperation with industrial partners.

Concluding the session, Sergey Katyrin invited the audience to join the International Trade and Industry Congress of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Investment. Development. The 25^th anniversary edition of the International Exhibition for Equipment, Instruments and Tools for the Metalworking Industry � Metalloobrabotka 2025 � has opened at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds, Moscow.

This spring, the exhibition occupies all pavilions and outdoor areas of the fairgrounds, which is over 41,000 net square metres. More than 1,200 companies from 7 countries (Russia, Belarus, China, India, Italy, South Korea, and Turkiye) are taking part in the show. More than 800 of them are Russian. Belarus and China arrange national pavilions.

The key topics of 2025 are Innovations in Machine Building and Tooling; Automated Lines and Robotic Systems; Software for Smart Factory Management; AI Technology and Digital Twin; New Materials and Additive Technologies.

Visitors can see equipment from heavy metal-cutting machines to robotic systems and AI systems that control production in operation.

The exhibition opened with a plenary session moderated by Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He emphasised that this event � The National Project on Means of Production and Automation as a Basis for the Development of Sustainable Industry � opens the 25th anniversary edition of the Metalloobrabotka exhibition.

"We would like to discuss cooperation and investment issues at our session,\' said Sergey Katyrin. Conference programme

The conference programme of Metalloobrabotka 2025 will be focused on applied industrial technologies and strategic development issues. There are more than 40 events planned, from plenary sessions to case studies.

The first day will feature the Plenary Session on the National Project on the Means of Production and Automation as a Foundation for Sustainable Industry Development held with participation of the heads of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and different industry associations.

The Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and EXPOCENTRE will organise the International Trade and Industry Congress on Investments. Development. Cooperation. The main objective of the congress is to create a regular professional platform for networking, exchange of successful experience, global industrial cooperation, and advanced technological development in the Russian regions and EAEU and BRICS countries, as well as to identify key problems of the country\'s economic development and work out ways to solve them.

The nationwide Subcontracting and Engineering Exchange will take place on 27 May. It will help customers to find qualified suppliers and suppliers to find orders.

The participants in the Panel on Qualification of the Future: Industrial Labor Market and Current Personnel Training Challenges in the Context of Technological Changes will analyse the state of the labour market and new requirements for employee qualifications. The event will be organised by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, and the Centre of Basic Industries Development.

Another major event will be the three-day practical Conference on Efficient Production 4.0, organised by Zyfra GC. Its central theme is Promtech Effects: How Factories Grow, Save and Earn Today. The programme includes the application of AI in smart factories, new forms of human-robot partnerships, the role of industrial data in the creation of digital assistants and twins, the use of machine diagnostics as an effective tool for managing equipment reliability, and other topics.

One of the most important topics is additive manufacturing. On 28 May, the conference programme will offer the Conference on Barriers to Additive Technology Industry Development and Mechanisms for Their Elimination, the Practical Conference on Science and Personnel as Drivers of Additive Manufacturing Industry Development, and the Panel Session on Additive Technologies: Transforming Production Processes Through Innovation, Stability, and Competitiveness in the Digitization Era.

Industrial robotics will be discussed at the Panel on Robot Integrators: the Key to Efficient Automation in Russia, the Panel on the Federal Robotics Development Project in Russia: Current Issues, Legal Aspects, and Initiatives, the Educational Lecture on How Robotics is Changing the Industrial Economy Landscape, and the Practical Session on Robotization in Action: Practical Steps to Implement the National Project.
