Human resources for the machine tool industry
The conference programme of Metalloobrabotka 2023 hosted the Panel on Technological Sovereignty: Human Resources for the Machine Tool Industry and the Defense Industry. It was organised by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Industry Project Management Centre, Stankin Moscow State University of Technology, and EXPOCENTRE AO.
Khairula Dzhamaldinov from the Department of Machine Tool Building and Investment Engineering of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade stressed that the machine tool industry and the defense industry are key sectors of the economy, which play an enormous role in the security and development of the country. Therefore, providing these sectors with highly qualified personnel is a key task for the state.
“In the first quarter of this year, according to statistics, the most sought-after professionals by manufacturing and industrial employers were design engineers and planners,” said the ministry’s representative.
Rector at Stankin Moscow State Technical University Vladimir Serebrenny spoke in detail about training for the industry.
“According to our data, 92 percent of our graduates find a job in their specialty,” said Vladimir Serebrenny. “At the same time, there are many questions related to the correct formation of personnel needs by enterprises, the correct distribution of admission quotas by the Ministry of Education and Science, a sufficient number of qualified university graduates, and so on.”
These and other issues were discussed at the panel. Specialists from the Ministry of Education and Science, the country's leading technical universities and enterprises took part in the discussion.
The panel concluded with the signing of two agreements between STANKIN and UZTS (Krasnodar), where the STANKIN graduate students will study at the UZTS Engineering Centre, and with ADEM-Engineering, which develops software for designers and technologists, and trains and consults the industry’s specialists.
