Subcontract Exchange – effective way of finding business partners

Subcontract Exchange has opened at the Metalloobrabotka 2022 exhibition. It is organised by EXPOCENTRE AO, with support of the Yaroslavl Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with the National Partnership for Subcontracting Development.  

Opening the exchange, President of the National Partnership for Subcontracting Development Alexander Fedorov reported that 10 customers and over 30 providers came from 30 regions of Russia. They plan to hold about 150 meetings.

Alexey Vyalkin, Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, noted the importance of using the subcontracting mechanism, as evidenced by global subcontracting turnover figures, which according to some estimates now stand at US$4.2 trillion.

"It is very pleasing," he said, "that the Subcontracting Exchange is being held at Expocentre Fairgrounds as part of the Metalloobrabotka 2022 conference programme, as such formats of work are particularly in demand in machine building and metalworking.

Dmitry Kurochkin, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the main priority for us today is to build a giant industrial system in Russia, in which domestic production chains with value added would be embedded. But, unfortunately, today we have a number of agencies that have gone down the path of shifting import dependence from one country to another. We need to think about the development of our own country's economy, not about where else we could fit in.

“Almost 30 years ago the Yaroslavl Chamber of Commerce and Industry began to work in subcontracting and became an initiator of this powerful direction of industry cooperation. Today, already dozens of regional chambers are in this system”, added Dmitry Kurochkin.
