Metalloobrabotka 2022 presents advanced laser technology
The Conference on Advanced Laser Technology, organised by IPG IRE-Polus, was held within the Metalloobrabotka 2022 conference programme.
The industry professionals presented their new developments, exchanged ideas and experience, introduced colleagues to promising laser cutting technologies.
The conference was opened by Sergey Shmelev, Deputy Head of the Sales Department of IPG IRE-Polus. He told about the history of his company and presented the range of products manufactured there. "Fiber lasers are the most reliable in the world of lasers. More than 94% of all components that make up a laser source are manufactured at our facility. Our product line includes more than 600 types of various items, many of which are unparalleled in the global hi-tech market," said the speaker.
Kirill Sokolov, Head of Laser Cutting and Marking Department of IPG IRE-Polus, devoted his report to the topic of highly efficient processing of rolled sheets with powerful fiber lasers. Nikolay Grezev, Head of the Laser Welding and Cladding Department of IPG IRE-Polus, spoke about laser welding, cladding and heat treatment technologies.
Representatives of Laser Centre, a company producing marking and micromachining equipment, UNIMACH, a company producing laser cutting units, flat sheet, pipes and profiles, and Severstal, a major mining and metallurgical company, made presentations at the conference. The speakers talked about the competitive advantages of laser, how laser cutting steel enables to increase productivity and product quality, the main aspects when choosing a laser metal cutting machine, peculiarities of proper operation of laser cutting complexes and the latest cutting steel.
