Metalloobrabotka 2018 has opened

Expocentre Fairgrounds has opened its doors to the 19th edition of the International Exhibition for Equipment, Instruments and Tools for the Metalworking Industry – Metalloobrabotka 2018. 

At the opening ceremony, General Director of Expocentre Sergey Bednov said that Metalloobrabotka ranked in the world’s top ten metalworking shows. This year it occupies 40,000 sq m to accommodate more than 1,000 companies from 33 countries. Country pavilions are organized by Belarus, China, Czechia, France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. They all are supported by their respective national industry associations. This year Metalloobrabotka also presents the first UK national pavilion.  

More than 500 leading Russian machine building companies demonstrate new generation equipment. Product sectors cover all fields of mechanical engineering, machine tool building and metalworking.

This year Metalloobrabotka presents a new sector of Additive Technologies and 3D Printing. Its products include materials for 3D printing, metal printing equipment and technologies, rapid prototyping, 3D scanning, hardware and software, etc.

It has become a tradition to pay special attention to education and training of professionals for machine building and metalworking enterprises. The Science, Vocational Education and Production section welcomes participation of Russian research centres and educational institutions. This year the trade show also offers the services of the Employment Centre.

This year the Expocentre for Counterfeit-Free Exhibitions project, aimed at minimizing counterfeit products showcased at exhibitions, operates online. Supporting events include international forums, workshops, conferences, panels and competitions.

Acting Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov delivered a welcome address at the Metalloobrabotka opening ceremony. He noted that every year the show presented more and more new models of Russian machine building equipment. According the acting minister, it shows that support measures of the government are working. He also reminded about the country's ambitious task to increase non-resource exports up to 250 billion USD before 2014. That is why it is so important to increase not only domestic but also foreign trade of machinery. One of the tools to promote and encourage it is Metalloobrabotka which helps its participants to develop new projects and new equipment.  

The Metalloobrabotka opening ceremony was also attended by Governor of the Ulyanovsk Oblast Sergey Morozov, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship Vladimir Gutenev, Vice-President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Dmitriev, President of the Stankoinstrument Russian Association of Machine-Tool Manufacturers Georgy Samodurov.
