Metalloobrabotka 2021: development of additive technologies

25 / 05 / 2021

The four-day conference “Industry-3D”, opened at Expocentre Fairgrounds today, is devoted to the comprehensive expert discussion of issues related to the development and application of additive technologies (AT) in machine-building and engineering.

It is held from May 25 to May 28 within the Metalloobrabotka 2021 international exhibition and organised by CNIITMASH (Rosatom State Corporation), Webconf Art of Conference and EXPOCENTRE AO together with the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and members of the Association for the Development of Additive Technologies – the corporate group “Almaz-Antey”, the company “Rusatom – Additive Technologies”, state-owned corporations “Roscosmos” and “Rostech”, PJSC “Gazprom”.

The conference programme has the format of thematic days. Today, the Day of AT Users has been held. Leading experts of the largest companies using additive technologies and 3D solutions, representative of the industrial science, the Industry Development Fund made their reports and presentations. In the second part of the conference experts of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade spoke about the AT development strategy in the Russian Federation up to the year 2030.

The conference was moderated by Mikhail Rodin, the owner of i3D – LLC “R&D Company “3D-Integration. In his introductory speech, he pointed out that emergence of the Industry-3D project was caused by the need to create the platform were all professional users of additive technologies would be able to communicate. Until recently, there was no such joint space. Nowadays, the Industry-3D allows to join both AT users and integrators including sellers of the equipment or the software as well as companies engaged into research and development and educational projects in the field of additive technologies.

In his speech, Viktor Orlov, CEO of CNIITMASH noted that additive technologies is a whole layer, practically all types of materials, including in the field of metals. According to him, additive technologies are unique because, for instance, one can do almost everything using the basic metallurgic equipment.

Denis Polozov, expert of the Industry Development Fund spoke about opportunities for funding and support of projects aimed at digitalisation of industries, introduction of technological solutions including robotic sets and additive units.

Other speeches considered specific samples of operation of hybrid metalwork centers using additive technologies, application  of innovative materials and technologies in the field of laser growing of large metal bars, application of additive technologies by MIC companies and other subjects.

The conference continues. On May 26, on the Day of Technologies, manufacturers and integrators of the industry will deliver reports on 3D technologies and innovative solutions focusing on successful cases of AT introduction in the industry.

On May 27, the Day of Engineering will be held. Representatives of global companies will discuss modern opportunities for modeling and software solutions applied in the work with AT. Directors of Russian additive centers will share their work experience. The audience of the conference will learn about the newest developments in the field of reverse design and application of 3D technologies in metrology.

The Day of Science will close the conference on May 28. It will be devoted to the most interesting scientific designs, educational programmess and startups in the field of AT.
