The event programme of Metalloobrabotka 2021, the International Exhibition for Equipment, Instruments and Tools for the Metalworking Industry, has been opened by a Forum on the Prospects and Mechanisms for Implementing the Machine Tool Industry Strategy. It was organised by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, EXPOCENTRE AO and the Industrial Project Management Centre.

Mikhail Ivanov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, spoke about the measures of state support for the industry at the Plenary Meeting on the Potential of Russian Manufacturers within the Implementation of the Development Strategy of the Russian Machine Tool Industry. He stressed that, according to the development strategy for the machine tool industry adopted last year, the production volume to be tripled by 2035, and the export volume by five times.

"We are well aware that the machine tool industry today is a basic industry as it is involved in the creation of those means of production that are used in almost all other industries - aviation, space, automobile and any other industry", said Mikhail Ivanov.

Roman Petruta, Director of the Industry Development Fund, noted in his speech that since the fund was established six years ago, more than six hundred companies have received money to create a new product, new production, new technology.

“We receive 15 applications a week amounted to about 2.5-3 billion rubles”, said Roman Petruta. “But, to my great regret, there are very few machine tool builders in this flow. That is why I want to invite new partners to our fund. Machine tool manufacturers can get funds in the fund at 1-3% per annum for 5-7 years. And this rate will remain unchanged for the entire lending period”.

Denis Polevschikov, CEO of the largest machine tool manufacturer in our country, STAN OOO, said that his company had managed to adapt to the global difficulties of the last year and ended the year 2020 with growth in key indicators. "STAN signed contracts worth more than 4.5 billion rubles. According to the CEO, this gives him the opportunity to look to the future with optimism.

The forum runs till May 26.
