21st Edition of the International Exhibition for Equipment, Instruments and Tools
for the Metalworking Industry 

Metalloobrabotka is the largest in Eastern Europe and the CIS trade show of global machine tool industry and state-of-the-art metalworking technology. Today, Metalloobrabotka ranks in the world’s top ten leading machine tool trade shows.

Facts & Figures

According to the Russian National Exhibition Rating, Metalloobrabotka is Russia’s best exhibition in all nominations in the Mechanical Engineering, Metalworking, Machine Tools, Industrial Machinery category. 

Metalloobrabotka has been bringing together the industry’s professionals since 1984. It has a unique target audience: 90% of its exhibitors come back every year. 

According to surveys, 59% of the visitors come to generate new business contacts, 41% plan to purchase equipment from exhibitors, and more than one third of them, 37%, come to find suppliers. It means that participation in the show significantly reduces the time and costs for entrepreneurs to find new customers and suppliers, and takes the company to the next level.

Show Highlights 

The show’s product sectors cover all aspects of machine building and metalworking: smart machine tools of a new generation, advanced equipment for metal processing and cutting, tooling and components, innovative engineering developments, the latest software, etc. 

A new unique sector, Industry 4.0 will occupy Pavilion No.4 and Zone 8.5 to bring together leaders of digital transformation of the metalworking industry and young promising startups. 

Hall 3 of Pavilion No.8 will accommodate the Additive Manufacturing sector with such companies as EOS Electro Optical Systems, Farsoon, 3D Control, i3D, SIU System, Nissa Digispace, the State Marine Technical University of St. Petersburg and others participating. An important addition to the showcase will be the four-day International Conference on INDUSTRY 3D: Additive Technologies and 3D Solutions. The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade will take part in the first day of the conference on May 25. The event will bring together manufacturers, integrators and users of professional and industrial 3D solutions. 

The Welding and Related Technologies sector will occupy Forum Pavilion to demonstrate advanced welding products and solutions. 

The Skolkovo Innovation Center arranges a special startup zone for young entrepreneurs within the Additive Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 sectors. 

This year, the large Science and Vocational Education section presents 18 of Russia’s leading universities including the Moscow Polytech, the Blagonravov Mechanical Engineering Research Institute, MIREA – the Russian Technological University, the South Ural State University, the Yeltsin Ural Federal University, the Tomsk Polytechnic University, the Stankin Moscow State Technological University, the Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University, the Ufa State Aviation Technical University, the Technical Universities Association, the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the State Marine Technical University of St. Petersburg, RPA CNIITMASH (Rosatom State Corporation), the RUDN University, the MISIS National University of Science and Technology, the Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research University), the Korolev Samara National Research University, and the Panov College of Modern Technologies. Representatives of colleges and universities will showcase their new developments and take part in the exhibition's conference programme. 

The Employment Centre at Metalloobrabotka (Stand D60, Hall 2, Pavilion No.7) gives information about current job offers of exhibiting companies, posts CVs, and offers professional career development consultations. The centre is organised by EXPOCENTRE AO jointly with the Association of Personnel Selection Consultants based at Vybor Group.

Event Programme

The exhibition's conference programme will provide up-to-date information about the industry’s development and its needs in the new environment. Participants of different events will include representatives of public authorities, relevant ministries, large and small businesses, leading industry associations and research centres, and renowned experts. 

The programme will be opened by the Forum on the Prospects and Mechanisms for Implementing the Machine Tool Industry Strategy. It is organised by EXPOCENTRE AO, the Industrial Project Management Centre with participation of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. 

The forum will include

  • the Plenary Meeting on the Potential of Russian Manufacturers Within the Implementation of the Development Strategy of the Russian Machine Tool Industry

  • the Conference on the Current Development Level of the Russian Toolmaking Industry and New Metalworking Solutions

  • the Panel on the Challenges in Obtaining a Status of the Russian Manufacturer and How to Address Them

  • the Conference on the Benefits of Purchasing Russian-made Products Within the Russian Federal Laws 44 and 223 

The important Conference on Technologies and Equipment of the Russian Machine Tool Building Industry for Technical Upgrade of Russian Machine Building Enterprises is organised by Stanki-Expo with support of EXPOCENTRE AO.

The Industry 4.0 sector will have a conference on its main topic. The event is organised by EXPOCENTRE AO and the National Union of Suppliers of Equipment and Tools for Metalworking. It will be a hybrid event broadcasted live on YouTube. Industry experts will discuss trends in automation of metalworking production, demonstrate modern technical and software solutions, share practical experience in implementing innovations in production, and discuss the role of artificial intelligence in a modern enterprise. 

A number of events will be devoted to welding technology:

  • the Conference on the Current State and Development Prospects for Welding Equipment in the Russian Federation, organised by EXPOCENTRE AO, RPA CNIITMASH (Rosatom State Corporation), with participation of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, with support of NAKS – the National Agency of Welding Control

  • the Conference on Welding and Related Technologies for Manufacture of Special and Critical Equipment, organised by RPA CNIITMASH (Rosatom State Corporation)
