The International Exhibition

Metalloobrabotka’2010 - the 11th International Exhibition for Equipment, Devices and Tools for the Metal-Working Industry took place successfully at the Expocentre Fairgrounds on May 24-28, 2010. This exhibition is one of the world’s leading machine-building shows.

The major industry Forum in Russia was organized by Expocentre and the Russian Association of Machine-Tool Manufacturers (Stankoinstrument) with the official support from the Russian Federation Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Union of the Russian Engineering Workers; under the patronage of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Moscow City Government. 

Due to the highest international standards of the exhibition products’ quality the Show is justly awarded with the labels of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF).

A working meeting of Georgiy Samodurov, President of the Russian Association of Machine-Tool Producers Stankoinstrument and Philip Geerts, Secretary General of CECIMO took place within the bounds of the exhibition.  During the meeting they discussed trends of the world’s metal-working industry development, economic situation in Russia and prospects of the Russian machine-tool industry. Mr. Geerts viewed the Metalloobrabotka’2010 exposition with great interest and keenly appreciated the level of the exhibition.

The scope and the importance of Metalloobrabotka answer the level of the European major shows of similar subjects. The Russian leading industry Forum is steadily increasing its potential.

This year 749 major machine-building companies from 32 countries participated in the exhibition. Taking into account the fact that at present only 34 world’s countries manufacture metal-working equipment, Metalloobrabotka’2010 has given a comprehensive idea of the world’s machine-tool industry trends.        
The expositions presented by national industry Associations such as VDW (Germany), AFM (Spain), UCIMU (Italy), CCPIT Machinery Sub-Council (China), KOMMA (Korea), SWISSMEM (Switzerland), SST (Czechia), TAMI (Taiwan) as well as by the Belarus Ministry of Industry and the Slovakia Ministry of Economy were of great interest to specialists.

World-leaders of the machine-tool industry including Amada, Balluff, Galika, Gertner, Grob-Werke, Ferrostaal, Yamazaki Mazak, Mueller Machines, Mori Seiki, Okuma, Sandvik, Trumpf, Willemin Macodel and many other companies demonstrated their achievements at the exhibition.

Russia was represented by 402 companies of the domestic machine-tool industry.

Metalloobrabotka’2010 occupied the total floor space of 46 570 sq meters.    Material processing modern technologies, the latest research developments, prospective metal-working equipment, industrial automation systems, devices, tooling, production accessories and many other items were brought to the specialists’ attention. The modern hardware of Expocentre enables to see the operating sophisticated high-technology equipment demonstrated in pavilions.

Special expositions, namely ‘Instrument of Russia’ and ‘Bearing Russia’ started their further development at the exhibition.
The exposition was visited by 27 650 attendees; 97% of them were specialists of the industry.   
One of the distinctive features of Metalloobrabotka’2010 became a saturated programme of business related events.  

The International Machine-Tool Forum was an important event of the Show. The Forum organized by the Russian Association Stankoinstrument covered issues relating to modern trends in metal-working machinery and devices technologies and designs.

The Saxon Economy Plenipotentiary in Russia, leading specialists from Switzerland, Germany and other foreign companies participated in the Forum. 

The Meeting of Presidents of the leading national Machine-Tool Associations took place.  Presidents of the international industry associations arranged representative national expositions as well as leaders of the Ukrainian and the Republic of Belarus national machine-tool associations took part in the event. During the meeting they discussed the issue relating to the situation in the Russian machine-tool industry. 

The International Conference ‘Electroerosion and Electrochemical Technologies in the Machine-Building Industry’ was held within the bounds of the Metalloobrabotka’2010 exhibition.
