On May 23 Expocentre Fairgrounds hosted the opening ceremony of the 12th International Specialized Exhibition Metalloobrabotka’2011

On May 23 Expocentre Fairgrounds hosted the opening ceremony of the 12th International Specialized Exhibition for Equipment, Instruments and Tools for the Metalworking Industry, Metalloobrabotka’2011. The event is organized by Expocentre ZAO and the Russian Association of Machine-Tool Manufacturers – Stankoinstrument.  

 

Deputy Director General of Expocentre Mikhail Tolkachev welcomed on behalf of the organizers 750 participants from 29 countries during the ceremony. He underlined that Metalloobrabotka was one of Expocentre’s innovation-related events. The exhibition includes a Competition of Innovations which one more time justifies the company’s motto, Expocentre: Territory of Innovations.

 

S. Sobko, a Chairman of a Russian State Duma Committee said, “the Metalloobrabotka’2011 Exhibition takes a special place among the events organized by Expocentre. Russia’s new innovative development demands the urgent development of metalworking as a basis for the development of the Russian production industry. Metalloobrabotka’2011 is devoted to this important issue”.

 

Metallobrabotka’2011 is an event of national importance. The exhibition is held with official support from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Russian Engineering Union. It is also enjoys the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Moscow City Government.    

Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Strashko noted during his welcoming speech that the Chamber provided auspices to the exhibition recognizing, together with the whole business community, the fact that the development of engineering and metalworking was crucial for the development of the Russian economy. Metalloobrabotka is the largest industry event in Russia and one of Europe’s leading exhibitions. The large business-related programme is devoted to key issues of the industry development.  

 

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Stankoinstrument Association Nikolai Panichev welcomed the exhibitors and said that Metallobrabotka opened many opportunities for cooperation, creation of joint enterprises and cooperative production. Russian companies showcase not only ready products but also their know-how that will revive the Russian production industry. 

 

The Metalloobrabotka traditionally enjoys participation of foreign companies. This year national pavilions are made up by the Republic of Byelorussia, China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Taiwan.  

The Official Stand of Saxony Federal German State is arranged for the eighth time.  During the opening ceremony Official Representative of the Saxony Federal Economy Ministry Manfred Liebl spoke about cooperation between Germany and Russia in the field of machine building as well as prospects of this cooperation.

 

The opening eremony was also attended by President of the Stankoinstrument Association G. Samodurov, Executive Director of the Scientific and Industrial Valve Manufacturers Association I. Ter-Mateosyants, Deputy Director of the  Rosagromash Russian Association of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers D. Maksimkin, President of the Russian Union of Metal Products Suppliers A. Romanov, and heads of other industry unions and associations of the Russian machine building and metalworking industries.
